CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- County commissioners are set to vote Tuesday on a plan to bring baseball to uptown.

Construction is slated to begin in October on a new stadium for the Charlotte Knights.  But the team is asking for more time to figure out how the'll pay for the $56 million facility.  The stadium will be built in the Third Ward.

Crews are expected to begin building the site by October of next year.  The Knights are a Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and currently play their home games at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, S.C.
