CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It's the first day of training camp for the Charlotte Bobcats, and the first step for this new and improved squad is to turn things around.
"You know we expect big things from each other," says guard Kemba Walker.
"I thought the approach from the players, the effort, the enthusiasm was terrific," says head coach Steve Clifford.
We saw the biggest addition to the team, literally, for the first time in uniform on the court. That's center Al Jefferson, who is expected to dominate in the post.
"I'm excited to be a part of this," says center Al Jefferson. "I think with the mindset we have, we have a chance to do something very special."
"He changes the whole dynamic of this team," says Walker. "To have him is great, I'm excited."
Jefferson should make Kemba Walker's job a lot easier Big things are also expected from the third year guard, who continues to improve.
"I'm just all about winning man," says Walker. "I just want to be the best player and leader I can for this team."
Of course this is just the beginning of a very long journey for the Bobcats. They have two-a-day practices through Thursday, all leading up to their preseason opener next Tuesday against the Hawks.
