CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Bobcats introduced their sixth head coach since 2007, Wednesday afternoon.

Steve Clifford brings 28 years of coaching experience to Charlotte; thirteen of them as an NBA assistant.

He most recently served as an assistant with the Los Angeles Lakers. He's also made stops in Orlando, Houston and New York. Clifford told reporters, "I was very comfortable that the three of us, (Rod Higgins, Rich Cho and Clifford) were very much on the same page with a similar vision.”

"The one thing that jumped out was the fact that the younger core guys are above average competitors," he continued.

The Bobcats new coach stressed work ethic in all levels of the organization during his introduction.
Clifford said, "Any good coach has a good definitive vision of how they want their team to play, practice and work. You can't skip steps in the season, this is the offseason, from now until the first week in October, the sole mindset of me, our staff and players has to be they get their games together individually so that everyone is in rhythm."

Charlotte has the fourth overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
