Charlotte Catholic routs Winston-Salem Parkland

Charlotte Catholic pounds Winston-Salem Parkland to a 55-7 blowout victory.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Catholic's chase for back-to-back Class 4A state titles is off to a great start.

The Cougars opened the State Championships with a 55-7 win over Winston-Salem Parkland Friday night.

Charlotte Catholic running back Jack Brigham took the hand off and ran up the right sideline to the end zone to help the Cougars take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Charlotte Catholic plays Mount Tabor Saturday, November 25. The Spartans advanced Friday night after narrowly defeating Porter Ridge 16-14.
