CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson has added former University of North Carolina Wilmington associate head coach Jimmy Garrity to the Tigers' women's basketball staff.

The school announced the hire Thursday. Garrity takes over for Jayme Callahan, who left after one season to become an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wisconsin.

Garrity has spent the past 10 years at UNC Wilmington and served as director of basketball operations for current Clemson's men's coach Brad Brownell when he coached the Seahawks.

Garrity will be responsible for developing scouting reports along with recruiting and on-court development.

Clemson coach Itoro Coleman says Garrity's ability to develop relationships and coach players will help the Tigers take a step forward. Clemson finished 6-22 this past season.
