NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- North Carolina's Kendall Marshall has won the Bob Cousy Award, which goes to the nation's top point guard.

The award was presented on Monday in New Orleans, before Kentucky and Kansas played for the national championship.

The Jayhawks were the team that beat the Tar Heels for a spot in the Final Four.

Marshall was still wearing a brace on his right wrist, which he fractured during a drive to the basket in the third round against Creighton. He had surgery the following day but was unable to play the following weekend against the Jayhawks, and the Tar Heels missed him badly.

Marshall declared for the NBA draft earlier this week. He said he's still about three weeks from being able to fully participate in workouts.
