Local Fishing Report
It is the typical summer slow down for fishing on local lakes. A few stripers are being caught up river on days when the dams are pulling water and on deep humps on the lower ends of the lakes. Largemouth bass have been biting early and late in the day using jig and pig combos on mid-lake points in 10 to 18 feet of water. The best bite lately has been for catfish. Try using shrimp. Hurricane Bertha off the Carolina Coast near Bermuda the past few days kicked up some big waves and rough water, which slowed fishing at the coast. Inshore fishermen have been consistently catching speckle trout and red drum. Once Bertha moves out the fishermen will move in. Don't forget to send me a picture.
