Local Fishing Report

July is here and the fish are on their summer patterns and that means deeper water. Stripers are deep near main lake points and river channels. You have to go as 4o feet down to get them. You can also try going up the rivers to find slightly cooler water near the dams. Bass is fishing is good with the best bite early in the morning. Basically, anytime before the boats get out on the lake. Lake Norman water temperature is in the 80s.

Speckled trout, reds and flounder are biting in the inshore areas. The reports indicate many fish being caught out of Wrightsville Beach, Morehead City and Holden Beach. Out in the deeper fishermen are finding mackerel, wahoo and mahi-mahi in good numbers. Now it is up to you to get out there and catch them. Good luck and send me a picture.
