CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jerry Richardson is used to driving a golf cart during Panthers practice but in a new TV commercial, he’s upgraded to a school bus.
Richardson and other Carolina Panthers appear in an ad for the NFL’s Play 60 campaign, which encourages kids to be active for 60 minutes each day.
Richardson, the Panthers’ founder and owner, is shown behind the wheel of a bus that brings players and kids to the team’s practice field in Charlotte.
A film crew shot the ad over two hours in September. It’ll start airing Sunday, replacing a similar spot that features the Chicago Bears.
The commercial will air for about a year during NFL games and in other spots during the off-season. The NFL thinks 80 million people will see it.
