ATLANTA, G.A. - After a ten day layoff, Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers return to action Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. The Panthers week four opponent is none other than the unbeaten Atlanta Falcons.
Carolina is coming off a 36-7 loss to the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. The Falcons beat the San Diego Chargers 27-3 in week three. Atlanta is a perfect 3-0 on the season. The Panthers are 1-2 on the season and 4-13 all time in the dome.
Running back Jonathan Stewart will likely return to action Sunday. Stewart missed week three with a toe injury. Linebackers Jon Beason and Thomas Davis were both listed as questionable as of Friday's injury report. Beason was seen warming up about three hours prior to game time.
NBC Charlotte is in Atlanta and will have team coverage Sunday night at 6:00 and after football.
