Former Duke standout makes Panthers roster, Sanchez gets cut

CHARLOTTE- Former Duke standout Jeremy Cash is on the final 53-man roster, and two of the Panthers draft picks are out.

Cash was undrafted but the Panthers made a push to get him to training camp. He transitioned from safety to outside linebacker there this preseason. 

Zack Sanchez was the Panthers fifth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was one of three rookie cornerbacks drafted by the Panthers.

Carolina also cut seventh-round draft pick tight-end Beau Sandland.

The Panthers also announced guard Chris Scott was suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2016 seasn for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances.
