INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. -- Porter Ridge senior quarterback Lee McNeill has high hopes entering his final season with the Pirates. After a semifinal loss to finish the year at 13-2, the Pirates and McNeill hope they get to championship game this year.
1. How is the recruiting process going?
McNeill: The recruiting process has been going really well for me. It has always been a dream of mine to play at the next level. I have received a lot of interest from Coastal Carolina, Princeton, Campbell, Duke, Harvard, Furman, Wofford, and Elon.
2. What game are you most looking forward to and why?
McNeill: The game I am looking forward to the most is our final regular season game at Sun Valley. They are our biggest rival and last year's game was for the conference championship. I am really excited to play at their place this year it will be a great environment.
3. What is one thing people may not know about you?
McNeill: One thing most people don't know about me is that I am scared of spiders. I'm totally okay with snakes and other things but I don't mess with spiders.
4. What would be an ideal senior season for you and Porter Ridge?
McNeill: The ideal season for my teammates and I would be to go undefeated and win the state championship. The only goal I have this year is to win every game. That would be a great way to go out.
5. If you have to switch places with one athlete for a day, who would it be and why?
McNeill: If I could trade places with one athlete for a day it would be Tom Brady. He is a great player and demands excellence out of his teammates. I think it would be awesome to play for Bill Belichick and have the opportunity to throw to guys like Chad Ocho Cinco and Wes Welker.
