BELMONT, N.C. -- High school football season is right around the corner and may are counting down the days.

Belmont South Point High School is expecting a big turnout for their home opener against Clover High School on August 19.

How big?

They're expecting 8,000 fans for a game against their former head coach John Devine.

Devine left South Point last season to take the head coaching position at Clover.

Here's another sign of how serious the Belmont community takes football -- to sit in one the seats at Lineberger Stadium fans need to buy a permanent seat license, similar to the Panthers.

"We have a waiting list of 150 people or more. These people who do have these chairs, they can come in at 7:30," David McKinney, a member of the Red Raiders Booster Club said. "They don't have to worry about their seat, somebody being in their seat or worrying about getting a seat."
