Harding beats Burlington Williams 65-43 in title game

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Harris, voted the championship game's MVP, also had seven rebounds and six assists for the Lady Rams (26-3) in winning their first state title.

Alexius Hampton added 14 points and Myicha Drakeford had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Harding, which shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Bulldogs 42-29.

Jaylaa Stewart had 12 points for Williams (27-5), which led by two points late in first quarter before closing the period tied 12-12. But the Lady Rams used a 17-4 run in the second quarter to pull ahead 33-19 at the break.

Harding led by as many as 27 points twice in the second half, the last at 64-39 with 1:43 remaining.
