RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Brothers Denzel and Angelo Keyes combined for 32 points and 18 rebounds as Kinston squeaked past Waxhaw Cuthbertson 58-55 on Saturday to win the boys Class 2A North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship.

Denzel, a junior, had 15 points and nine rebounds and won the MVP honor, while his senior brother Angelo led Kinston (27-4) with 17 points and nine boards. It was Kinston's eighth boys basketball title in 18 finals appearances and the Vikings' third in the past five years.

Shelton Mitchell had 22 points to lead the Cavaliers (31-2), who had a 19-game winning streak snapped. Isiah Cureton had 13 and Emmitt Afam 10 for Cuthbertson, which opened in the fall of 2009.

Angelo Keyes gave Kinston its first lead at 52-50 when he hit a pair of foul shots with 3:36 to go. He made three of four free throws in the final 30 seconds.
