CONCORD, N.C. -- The Cox Mill High School football team won't play Friday night because several players are displaying flu-like symptoms. The JV football game against North Stanley Thursday night was postponed and Friday night’s varsity game against Mount Pleasant High School has also been postponed. Players returned to the practice field Thursday afternoon after dozens of student-athletes came down with flu-like symptoms. Cox Mill High School had more than 20 percent of its varsity and junior varsity teams out sick. Though nothing is confirmed, the county is treating this as if all those students have H1N1. Cox Mill's game against Mount Pleasant High School is re-scheduled for next Tuesday. Cabarrus County's athletic director says it could be postponed again if the students aren't healthy by then.
