INDIAN TRAIL , N.C. - Three Porter Ridge football players who were ejected for leaving the bench during an alleged fight with Providence Day on Friday night had their ejections overturned Saturday.

Turns out the players were members of the extra point team that ran out onto the field during an altercation in the second half of the Pirates 17-7 victory over the Chargers.

The state athletic association's policy calls for any team that has three or more player ejections from the same fighting incident to forfeit its playoff privileges.

The Pirates don't have to worry about that fate, considering the ejections were overturned Saturday. It's unclear whether the three players will be ruled eligible to play Friday night against Marvin Ridge.
