INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. – For the first time in school history, Porter Ridge football is in the big time spotlight as they prepare for a state title contest this weekend at Wake Forest.
Head coach Blair Hardin and his players celebrated their 14th win of the year Friday night at the Boneyard over Mooresville, 34-28. The Pirates led by six at the half and staved off a furious Blue Devils comeback.
After a semifinals loss in 2010, Porter Ridge now steamrolls into Saturday's Class 4A state final against Scotland County. The game will be played at 7 p.m.
