MINT HILL, N.C. -- In a game that had upset written all over it, Ardrey Kell pulled off maybe week six's biggest shocker with a 23-21 defeat of Independence.

Playing under sloppy, wet conditions Friday did not help Patriots quarterback Evan Guest and company.  Indy struggled through the air and turned the ball over several times down the stretch.

Independence falls to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the Southwestern 4A while Ardrey Kell, which has lost two games by a combined eight points, has now won two in a row.

The Knights beat South Meck by a field goal in week five, and now add a two-point win on Friday to improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in league play.
