CORNELIUS, N.C. – Cole Ladowski and the Lake Norman Wildcats had a night to remember as they topped Hough 35-34 on the road.
The Wildcats showed plenty of resolve throughout the contest after trailing by double digits twice. The home-standing Huskies got things going early with two long touchdown runs to take a 14-0 lead. Running back Tyus Fields was stellar for Miles Aldridge’s team, toting the ball five times for 134 yards and three touchdowns.
Hough clung to a 34-21 lead in the fourth quarter when Cole Ladowski engineered the first of two late scoring drives. Ladowski finished the game with 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air, but he gave Lake Norman the lead with just over a minute to play with a six-yard score.
Hough’s last-second field goal attempt came up short, preserving Lake Norman’s victory.
