Myers Park hands Sun Valley first loss in Game of the Week

Myers Park improved to 5-0 for the first time in over 30 years with a 28-14 win over Sun Valley.

MONROE, N.C. – The Friday Night Frenzy Game of the Week featured a battle of unbeaten teams, as the Sun Valley Spartans played host to the Myers Park Mustangs.

When the dust settled, Myers Park found themselves improving to 5-0 for the first time in over 33 years after topping the Spartans 28-14.

Myers Park quarterback Jack Davidson was solid again for Scott Chadwick’s team, throwing two touchdown passes. Sun Valley quarterback Sam Howell was also stellar, racking up 270 yards and a touchdown.

The Mustangs picked up the game-winning score when Davidson connected with Elijah Bowick from nine yards out, giving Myers Park an insurmountable lead.
