CHARLOTTE, N.C. --West Meck used a combination of its ground game and aerial attack to pound Harding in our "Friday Night Frenzty" Game of the Week Friday.

West Meck improves to 3-2 and wins its opening game in the MEGA 7 conference, while the Rams fall to 2-3 and 0-1 in league play.

Defense dominated the first half, with West Meck netting a safety to take an 8-0 lead early on.

Senior Corey Neesmith pounced over the goal line in the second quarter to give the Hawks a 15-0 advantage before the Rams' DeMarcus Winston scored with :59 seconds left in the half to cut the deficit nearly in half.

But the Hawks added a punt return to seal the victory in the second half.

"The players just played hard.  They took more time in the things they were doing," said West Meck head coach Jeff Caldwell.   "They started doing the little things.

I always tell them...you always have to look out for each other," he added.  "And they took that to heart."
