Hermine prompts schools to cancel, postpone games

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Hurricane Hermine has forced school leaders to reevaluate the timing of this week's varsity football games. 

Hurricane Hermine is expected to drop up to four inches of rain in the Charlotte area throughout the day Friday, and several local schools are postponing or canceling Friday night games. 

Here's the list so far: 


Lancaster County 1 game; rest as scheduled

Friday games moved to Thursday

Chesterfield County

Union County

Chester County 

Friday games moved to Saturday

Rock Hill


George Washington (VA) @ Vance moved to 2 p.m. Saturday

Byrnes (SC) @ Mallard Creek moved to 7 p.m. Saturday
