CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Known as a ferocious defender on the hardwood, Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist happily goes about his business away from the spotlight.
However, it would be a shame not to spotlight the generosity he showed to shoppers at Food Lion leading up to Thanksgiving.
MKG spent an evening surprising people to pay for their groceries. Having spent some time around MKG as a member of the media I know that talking to strangers, even to surprise them with free groceries, is outside of his comfort zone.
But that didn't stop him from going out of his way to give a few families a reason to be thankful.
“I’m really shy,” Kidd-Gilchrist said. “I’m just doing this out of the bottom of my heart. I just want to see families happy for the holidays.”
