Dale Jr. to miss rest of 2016 season

CONCORD, N.C. – NASCAR’s most popular driver will miss the rest of the 2016 season while recovering from  concussion-like symptoms, according to NASCAR.

Doctors have not cleared the two-time Daytona 500 champion after an evaluation Wednesday at the University of Pittsburgh’s Sports Medicine Concussion Program.

Jeff Gordon will drive the No. 88 Chevrolet at Darlington this weekend for the ailing Dale Jr., who has not competed since the July race at Kentucky Speedway.
