CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The NASCAR Hall of Fame is scheduled to open on May 11.
On Tuesday, we got a preview of the facility in uptown Charlotte. Several cars are already on display.
City leaders say the museum will have a big impact on the city.
"It truly gives us that thing that's unique," said Tim Newman, CEO of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority. "Just like Nashville has the Country Music Hall of Fame, Cleveland has the Rock 'N Roll. There's only one NASCAR Hall of Fame and it's ours."
