CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Speedway Motor Sports president Bruton Smith spoke to NewsChannel 36 about NASCAR's past and future this week.
Smith helped build a billion dollar business empire with Speedway Motorsports after his mom convinced him to quit racing.
He's had it all, lost it and re-built from scratch with companies that now employ 15,000 people.
Smith admits he's confrontational, but he's not about to apologize for that or slowdown as he looks ahead to what's next for his 85th birthday.
