Bersin to miss remainder of OTAs after surgery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Carolina Panthers announced that wide receiver Brenton Bersin will miss the remainder of organized team activities after undergoing surgery on his left ankle.

According to the Panthers, Bersin was working through pain in his ankle during OTAs, but surgery was deemed necessary for him to compete for a roster spot.

“He had a spur removed from his ankle,” head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion told “We felt like this was the best time to do it. He’ll miss minicamp, but he’ll be fine and ready to go for training camp.”

The Charlotte Latin alumnus has 24 career receptions and one touchdown since joining the Panthers in 2014. He saw action in 10 games last year.
