Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller is sure of at least one thing about the Carolina Panthers.
“They have the best player in the National Football League” Miller said on a Sunday conference call. Clearly, Miller thinks very highly of Cam Newton. He went on to explain why that is.
“I really do admire Cam” Miller said. “The type of player that he is, the type of quarterback that he is. He is able to get his teammates to play at a level they would not normally play at.” Miller’s praise of Cam Newton did not stop there.
“I admire Cam” Miller said again. “If I had a son that wanted to be a quarterback, I would point him in the direction of Cam Newton and Peyton Manning.”
When asked about why the Panthers lost in the Super Bowl, even with the best player in the league, Miller had a truthful answer that should resonate within the Carolina Panthers fan community.
“They had ample opportunities in the game to win, the players didn’t take full advantage of it,” Miller said.
And he is absolutely correct. From fumbles to incomplete passes to poor protection, the Carolina Panthers have plenty of blame to place on themselves in losing the Super Bowl.
