It was a huge victory for the U.S. women's soccer team in the gold medal final in London. Two Tar Heels were part of the team that defeated Japan 2-1, and NewsChannel 36's Dave Wagner caught up with them Friday.

How does it feel for midfielders Tobin Heath and Heather O'Reilly to have gold hanging around their necks?

"It's great. It's pretty heavy, so I have to kinda like hold it up," said Heath.

Asked what they had to say to their supporters back in North Carolina, Heath and O'Reilly both screamed, "Go Heels!"

"Just go UNC! UNC women's soccer is where I sort of cultivated my game and learned how to compete and be passionate. A great teammate. I thank North Carolina for that," said O'Reilly.
