LONDON -- In a country of kings and queens Charlotte's swimming royalty has arrived at London's Aquatic Centre.

“When Team USA, especially for swimming, walks on deck, there's almost like a hush that goes across the crowd,” Cullen Jones.  “Cause they know we're there."

Five of the fastest swimmers in the world are from SwimMAC Carolina.

“For us, it's all about winning,” Jones said. “It's all about getting as many gold medals as possible.  It's about representing our country.  We're there for business."

David Marsh is their coach in Charlotte and an Olympic coach in London.

"The Olympic games makes the Superbowl a J.V. event,” Marsh said.

Davis Tarwater is one of the biggest surprises of these games he's even surprised he's here.

"I started the week thinking my career was over."

When Davis came up short in his third attempt at the Olympics he retired and then unretired less than 24 hours later when Michael Phelps dropped out of a race.

"It's been the most intense high and low of any period of time in my life," he said.

Breast stroker Micah Lawrence is the shy one in this group. But says she's ready for the brightest lights in all of sports.

"It's been one of my dreams since I was very little to go to the Olympics and having made it is just an incredible feeling,” Lawrence

And SwimMAC's Kara Lynn Joyce is looking to add to her treasure trove of four silver medals.

"They make SwimMAC one of really the absolute elite programs in the entire country if not the entire world," Andrea Kremer said.

With unrelenting smiles and confidence these SwimMAC Olympians are gearing up for their game. Across the pond, in the pool and ready to bring home some Olympic hardware to Charlotte.
