Hornets trade for Dwight Howard

The former all-star comes from the Hawks in a swap for two players. They'll also get a better draft pick this year.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A little less than 48 hours before the 2017 NBA Draft, the Hornets appear to be making a move.

Eight-time all-star Dwight Howard is headed to Charlotte.

According to Wojnarowski, the Hornets aren't trading away their 11th pick Thursday night, and essentially upgraded their 41st pick to the 31st pick in the trade.

ESPN's Marc Spears also reported the move (albeit calling the Hornets the Bobcats).

NBC Charlotte has reached out to the Hornets for confirmation. We'll have the latest on NBC Charlotte at 11 p.m.
