Amy Cowman joined NBC Charlotte in February, 2010. She's thrilled to be back in her hometown where her entire family still lives. Amy graduated from Charlotte Catholic High school.

While in Memphis, Amy traveled to Eastern Tennessee to report on the coal ash spill that led to Senate hearings on the TVA. She also reported on the rigors of the Memphis Police Academy, including firearms training and being pepper-sprayed. She got the chance to interview such musical legends as BB King.

Before Memphis, Amy worked as the morning anchor at WAGT in Augusta, Ga., where she got the opportunity to report on The Masters and play Augusta National twice. Amy began her career at CNN en Espanol. She then transferred to CNN, where she worked her way up to package producer for Wolf Blitzer Reports.

Amy is fluent in Spanish and looks forward to using her Spanish to report on the issues surrounding the growing Hispanic community in Charlotte.

When she's not working, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and family and friends, playing golf, traveling and running. She completed her second half-marathon in December 2010 in Charlotte.
