Amy Lehtonen joined WCNC-TV as a web journalist in June of 1999 doing daily on-air reports. She is now the Director of Digital Media.
Amy currently sits on the board of Loaves & Fishes.
Before moving to Charlotte, Amy was a web producer and assignment editor with KHQ-TV in Spokane, WA.
Prior to her work with KHQ-TV, Amy assisted in the production and public relations efforts of the newscasts for WKYC-TV in Cleveland, OH and Baldwin-Wallace College.
Amy's work has contributed to the success of WCNC.com. In July 2002, the web site was awarded the best online news site in the Carolinas by Radio Television News Directors Associations of The Carolinas. The web site has also won an Edward R. Murrow award.
Amy graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH with a BA in Broadcasting. A native of Cleveland, Amy is a big Indians fan. When not catching a game on TV, she enjoys golf, skiing and running. She ran her first marathon in Nashville in 2000 and ran the Chicago marathon six months later. She continues to run smaller races in the Charlotte area.
Amy and her husband have three children.
