Bora Kim joined NBC Charlotte in January of 2013.
Before heading to Charlotte, Bora reported for WDIV-TV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit. There, she covered a range of stories relating to the economic collapse and rebound of the city and "Big Three," to the more memorable weather extremes in the region. She also covered several high-profile murder trials, one in which she was interviewed and featured on the newsmagazine program, NBC Dateline. Prior to spending nearly four-years in Michigan, she took on similar roles at stations in Northern California, Tennessee and Texas.
Bora is a graduate of Syracuse University. She earned a Broadcast Journalism degree from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication. She also holds an International Relations degree from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, with a geopolitical focus in Asian Affairs. She has studied and lived abroad and in Washington D.C. and travels every opportunity she gets.
In her spare time, she hones her culinary skills, and brushes up on her Korean. She is excited to get involved in the community and welcomes any story ideas and suggestions. You can also send her your recommendations to travel destinations locally and around the state.
