CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- There are some things about the Super Bowl that are just a given--the fanfare, the media day, the commercials.
But you may not know about something else that happens at the Super Bowl every year. People come in and sample all different types of food from all 32 different NFL teams in what s called the Taste of the NFL.
Each team brings a chef to make one special dish.
The Panthers entry is a mouthwatering dessert.
We re actually doing a frozen sage custard with a grilled peach jam and a little pecan biscotti, said Bonterra restaurants executive chef Cory Sharpe.
Sharpe represents Charlotte and the Panthers, and will be making 1,500 of his dish.
Frank Deal of Franks East Boulevard Bar and Grill will be in attendance as well. He has worked the event 12 of the last 14 years.
Everybody helps everybody out. Everybody works together for this common goal, Deal said.
The goal: really great food and raising money for food banks across the country.
The money raised by the Panthers from the event goes to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
