STANLYCOUNTY, N.C. -- Authorities have arrested two more people in connection with a large-scale counterfeit ring.

On Monday, detectives with the Albemarle Police Department, Stanly County Sheriff's Office and agents from the United States Secret Service arrested Dillon Patrick Chandler, 19, and Tonya Polk Chandler, 46, related to the rash of counterfeit money in the county in recent months.

Dillon Chandler is charged with possession of more than five counterfeit instruments, obtaining property by false pretenses and uttering forged instrument. He's held on a $25,000 bond.

Tonya Chandler is facing charges of forgery of instrument, obtaining property by false pretense and uttering forged instrument. She, too, was booked in on a $25,000 bond.

These two arrests come on the heels of an announcement by the Stanly County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Secret service about arrests made in a large-scale counterfeit check ring in the area that targeted more than 50 victims.
