MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- A fire ripped through a Mooresville home early Wednesday morning.

Fire officials said a man sleeping in the home woke up and saw flames in the front room of the house around 4 a.m.

The man was able to get out unharmed, but the home was destroyed by the fire. The Red Cross is helping the man find a place to stay for the timing being, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
