LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- A Vale woman has been charged in connection with the theft of saddles from the Cross Creek Cowboy Church.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office charged 43-year-old Sylvia Juanita Minteer with one felony count each of breaking and entering a place of worship, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

On January, deputies received a report that a large metal horse barn one of the sliding doors facing North Brook Number 3 School Road was partially open. The lock on the storage room door inside the barn had been cut and a number of items including five saddles had been removed.

Minteer arrested Saturday and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
