CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A mishap pulling into a gas station parking lot caused a small fuel spill in Charlotte Sunday afternoon.

NBC Charlotte's crew on the scene says the driver of a fuel truck didn't turn wide enough as he attempted to pull into the Circle K gas station at Providence Road and Old Sardis Road in south Charlotte, causing him to rub up against a telephone pole.

The contact with the telephone pole caused one of the valves on the truck to break, prompting a small fuel spill.

The emergency shut off was activated immediately, and only the fuel in the pipe spilled onto the ground-- about 25 gallons.

Cleanup is underway, and authorities say there is no contamination.
