CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- An early-morning crash killed one teenager and injured two other people in Catawba County on Tuesday.

According to North Carolina Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Jordan Bone died after the car she was riding in crashed into a tree. The accident happened along Mt. Beulah Road near Highway 16 just before 4 a.m.

Twenty-year-old Tyler Good was driving that car. Troopers say he ran off the right shoulder of the road, overcorrected and then crossed the center line of the road and crashed into a tree.

Good and another passenger, 18-year-old Michael Davis, were taken to Carolinas Medical center.

Good is in critical condition and Davis is in stable condition.

Trooper Lineberger with highway patrol says they do not suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. He said they believe speed was a factor in the crash and that Good was driving 70-miles-per-hour in a 45-miles-per-hour zone.
