CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Near the University Area in north Charlotte officials held a ribbon cutting Wednesday for a safer roadway.

For the past several months road crews have been working to re-configure the intersection of Highways 29 and 49.

Nearly 80,000 cars a day use the interchange, which used to cause confusion for some motorists.

Now there's better access, a sidewalk and bicycle lanes.
