CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- With just nine months left until Charlotte plays host to a pretty impressive crowd for the Democratic National Convention, businesses around town are busy getting ready. One Myers Park coffee shop has high hopes for landing a TV star during the DNC.

I think it s going to be a madhouse here when it happens, said Dan LaRusso, who works at Wells Fargo in uptown Charlotte. I m excited for it.

LaRusso says he doesn t mind that the Democratic National Convention will likely mean a lot of upheaval in uptown.

Students at Johnson C. Smith University will probably start fall classes a week late so the dorms there can be used to house security.

Entertainment venues like Amos South End and the Fillmore are already booked solid with concerts for convention goers, and Bank of America confirms they're working with convention planners to see if the folks who work at the bank s headquarters will need to make alternate arrangements that week.

I might want to work from home or I might want to take off and just walk around and see the sights, said Greg Young, who works for the bank in uptown.

Business owners across the city are already working up ways to make the convention work for them.

I think it s great. I think every business should really try to figure out how they can be a part of the DNC, said Amy Aussieker, who owns FABO, a Myers Park coffee shop.

She just launched her own campaign to get comedian and political pundit Jon Stewart to her shop.

We have a mission. We have a group meeting next week to come up with a nine-month plan to get him here at FABO. It s called Stalking Stewart.

Yes, Stalkiing Stewart. The group already has Twitter and Facebook accounts dedicated to the goal.

So I figure over the next nine months with the right campaign we can get him in FABO, Aussieker said.

While there s no word yet from Stewart s camp, it s just one more campaign worth watching.
