CHARLOTTE, N.C. Sunday Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department (CMUD) crews worked to repair a leaking sewer pipe.

Officials said the leak is near Crown Lake Drive in Cornelius. Some 330 gallons of sewage seeped into Lake Norman. Crews said as of yet no dead fish were discovered with the overflow.

In a press release sent to media outlets CMUD touted that they maintain 4,047 miles of wastewater pipe. Representatives with CMUD said that charges from monthly water bills help to fund preventative maintenance on emergency response.
