SALISBURY, N.C. One man has been arrested in the murder of a teenager near Livingston College on Monday afternoon.

Salisbury police confirmed to NBC Charlotte that the homicide happened at West Horah Street and Institute Street around 3:20 p.m. Monday.

The shooting took place two blocks away from Livingstone College. Police have arrested 22-year-old Andre Bognuda in connection to the murder of 19-year-old Abraham AJ Jenkins.

Witnesses said they saw two men chasing Jenkins shortly before 3 p.m. and then heard several gunshots. Jenkins died at the scene.

Police are still searching for a second suspect described as a black man, late teens to early 20 s, dark skin and short dreads.

The shooting prompted officials to lockdown Livingstone College and Salisbury High School for about an hour. Jenkins was not a student at the college.
