ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- Police in Albemarle are looking for an armed robbery suspect who knocked-off a gas station on Monday night.

Just before 10 p.m., Albemarle Police say a white male wearing a dark-colored hoodie entered the Olympia gas station in the 700 block of South Second Street.

Police say the suspect pulled a gun, aimed it at the store clerk and demanded cash from the register. The man fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as standing approximately 5-foot-8 and weighing about 150 pounds.

Police did not comment on how much money was stolen from the store.
