GASTONIA, N.C. -- Gastonia police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who is accused of passing counterfeit money.

Police said on Feb. 25 the suspect passed a counterfeit $50 bill to pay for groceries at the Save A Lot Food Store on West Franklin Boulevard.

Anyone with information to identify the suspect can call Gastonia Police Detective Scott McClure at (704) 866-6975.

If someone wants to provide information and remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at (704) 861-8000.
