CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- For the second time this week, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools student was caught with a weapon on campus at school.

Just one day after a seventh grade student at Community House Middle School in Ballantyne was caught with a loaded gun in his book bag, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police investigated a separate Wednesday incident at Cochrane Collegiate Academy.

According to the police report, an officer was notified of students carrying weapons on school grounds around 2 p.m. A 14-year-old was found with a seven-inch butcher knife blade, the report states.

The teen was arrested for a weapon violation, but the name of the student has not been released.

The school is located at the intersection of The Plaza and Milton Road and serves students between grades six and nine.
