CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Authorities reopened Tyvola Road early Monday morning after a car flipped and caught fire.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said a single car accident happened at Tyvola Road near South Tryon Street around 3:30 a.m.

Police said driver of the car was speeding at the time of the crash. Emergency crews briefly closed part of Tyvola Road while crews put out the fire and cleared the scene.

The driver was not seriously hurt during the accident, according to officials.
