CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sunday is the ninth year for the Hope Floats Duck Race at the US Whitewater Center, from 2 to 5 p.m. Join Larry Sprinkle for the duck race at 3:30 p.m.

The KinderMourn story began as the vision of Lucy and Bill Christopher following the death of their infant daughter, Sally.

Lucy had earlier been a co-leader of a volunteer group for parents of deceased infants. Because of the value of this group experience, Lucy decided to organize an agency with broader impact.

Since 1978, KinderMourn has provided hope for bereaved parents, grieving children and teens by offering support and counseling programs, creating awareness of bereavement issues and empowering the community to effectively assist those who have suffered an unthinkable loss.

The annual The Hope Floats Duck Race helps provide necessary funding for the agency.

The duck race starts at 3:30 p.m. and is open for everyone.

You can adopt a duck and win up to $3,500 in cash plus many other big prizes!

Quackers, the world s largest duck, also came by to remind everyone about all the fun they can have this Sunday afternoon. To adopt a duck, go to: www.kindermourn.org.
